How Twothirds wants to become a global eco fashion brand
Through a crowdfunding campaign, Twothirds aims to bring about lasting change in the industry—and to finance its entry into global, high-growth markets, as well as to transition from a purely online D2C business to an offline B2C and B2B business.

Founded in 2010 by a group of surf-loving entrepreneurs who wanted to challenge the excessive fast fashion industry and conventional surf fashion, Twothirds has built a profitable business model in the fashion industry over the past 14 years. With the pre-order system, production from sustainable materials and the processing of residual materials, they have developed new ways in slow fashion to minimize waste and thus live up to their mission: to protect the ocean for future generations.
With the campaign, Twothirds is pursuing expansion plans: the brand wants to finance its entry into global, high-growth markets and transition from a successful online-only D2C business to an offline B2C and B2B business. The wholesale business has already started with great success in 2024, and the investment in innovative business models for a sustainable circular economy is intended to create additional sources of income and brand value. In doing so, the company is aiming to change the fashion industry sustainably as a leading provider. "We have big ambitions. Our goal is to build the world's largest blue community committed to conscious and transformative consumption. We started from scratch. Today, we are 700,000 people who share the same values and a deep connection to the ocean," says Lutz Schwenke, founder and CEO.
