Bus advertising also attracts attention in French-speaking Switzerland

Advertising on and in public transport vehicles attracts a lot of attention and is well received. This was the result of a representative population survey commissioned by APGTraffic in the Lausanne conurbation, which confirms earlier studies in German-speaking Switzerland. The study was the first to examine the advertising impact of window banners.
The most intensive use of buses was recorded by the 15-34 age group at 81% per week. The general level of attention paid to transport advertising is 60 percent, which puts this advertising medium in third place in an intermedia comparison - behind the frontrunner, posters, with 67 percent and TV with 61 percent. These figures confirm the results of earlier studies in the conurbations of Lucerne (2002), Zurich (2003) and Basel (2006). With a share of 6.8%, transit advertising is the third-largest outdoor advertising segment in Switzerland after posters and neon.
