The Mitteland Zeitung is bringing reinforcements on board for the Sunday edition, which will be published for the first time on September 16. The AZ Medien Group announced on Monday that David Sieber, Nicole Kircher, Sacha Ercolani, Irene Dietschi Klaffke, Silvia Blocher, Alfred Herbert and Karin Kofler will be working for the paper. Apart from the Federal Councillor's wife, most of the new additions come from Tamedia and Ringier. David Sieber will work as political editor with a focus on the federal parliament. He has been working for the Aargauer Zeitung in the Federal Parliament for a year and is also responsible for the major interview at Südostschweiz am Sonntag. He is now moving to the Sunday edition with a 100 percent workload. The 44-year-old previously worked for the Bündner Zeitung and the Berner Zeitung.
Nicole Kircher joins the business editorial team. She has been working at Cash for seven years, where she is deputy head of the "Business" department. From 1998 to 2000, Kircher worked for the news magazine Facts, and before that for the Handelszeitung.
Sacha Ercolani will join the editorial team of the Sunday edition in August. He will be responsible for social and show topics. The 34-year-old has been deputy head of entertainment at SonntagsBlick since January 2005 and has also written stories for Blick and Schweizer Illustrierte.
Irene Dietschi Klaffke will be writing about "Wissen" topics on a 60 percent workload, as she did most recently as a freelancer for NZZ am Sonntag, Facts and Wir Eltern. The 43-year-old was editor at the Tages-Anzeiger magazine for four years before going freelance.
The first columnists have also been signed up. The wife of Federal Councillor Silvia Blocher will write once a month for the Sunday edition, for the first time in the launch edition on September 16. The financial expert Alfred P. Herbert, known as the "stock market guru" from the newspaper Cash and from television, will report every week in the Wirtschaftsbund on developments on the stock markets and news from companies.
The front page of Stellenmarkt-Bund am Sonntag is opened with an editorial article covering topics such as careers, further training, the job market and everyday working life. It is written by Karin Kofler, former head of the business section of Facts and now a freelancer.
