CS2: Relaunch Denner

Switzerland's largest discount retailer is getting a new website. «One for all»—that was also the guiding principle for CS2’s implementation.

The main objective was to structure the content to meet the needs of all stakeholder groups. Extensive analysis and workshops defined the individual parameters of the solution. Here is a selection of the priorities:

- Increase the attractiveness of the brand through a contemporary appearance
- Information for customers about promotions and stores
- Helpful additional functions such as action alarm or shopping list
- Easy management of the website (resource-saving)
- Media corner with all relevant content
- Mobile use has great relevance (smartphone and tablet)
- More Swissness and a strong content strategy.

The Page has been given a new, contemporary layout and radiates a lot of Swissness. The design was completely mobile-optimized - so that the next purchase can be planned conveniently by cell phone while on the move. Clarity has been a top priority: With filters, all promotions can now also be searched for by product group.

D&AD: Ten Pencils for Swiss Agencies

Swiss agencies won a total of ten Pencils at this year's D&AD Awards. Once again, the top-ranked entry was «The HIV+ Issue» by Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva.

In fact, this one was awarded a yellow pencil in the "Direct Mail" category, which is the equivalent of gold. The yellow pencil was joined by two wooden ones - the D&AD equivalent of bronze. The campaign, which cleaned up internationally last year and topped the creative rankings of Werbewoche decided single-handedly thus still provides a Geneva Award blessing in 2016.

Three times wood also wins Jung von Matt/Limmat with the also very well known and already several times awarded campaign "The Great Escape" for Graubünden Ferien. The agency secures a fourth pencil for the Obi "Modern Jobs" campaign. For Swiss Pencil ninth and tenth is Publicis with the Equal Pay Campaign for the Women's Center Zurich.

The D&AD Awards count in the creative ranking of Werbewoche with the same weighting as Cannes Lions, Clio, One Show and The Cup. Last year, no Swiss D&AD points were included in the ranking - but the lull has definitely ended in the 2016 ranking. (hae)

Last but not least: Test sitting XL

How does it actually feel to sit in a stroller? Because babies can't tell themselves, FCB Chicago has reproduced a popular model in adult size.

Another idea that makes you wonder why no one has implemented it yet. Even if the real-world value for adults is probably modest, because in the end you have to be a baby to know what it's like to sit as a baby. Nevertheless, the idea is certainly beneficial for sales of Contours strollers. Babies would probably buy Contours. (hae)

Data volume instead of interest: Salt examines entry into the banking business

According to the Sonntagszeitung, Salt is closely monitoring the banking model of the German mobile carrier O2 and is apparently considering entering the financial services sector.

From the summer, O2 will offer financial services in cooperation with a bank. This entry is being watched with great interest by Salt in this country. O2 pays no interest, but rewards customers with data volumes. "Megabytes instead of meager interest," the CEO of Telefonica Deutschland, which owns O2, told German media. The offer includes money transfers, standing orders, small loans and a Mastercard. Transfers can be made using the recipient's phone number. In France, Orange, a mobile provider, also entered the banking business in 2017. To this end, Orange has purchased 65 percent of a bank and later plans to expand to Spain and Belgium with the banking solution.

The linking of banking services and mobile subscriptions is also highly interesting for Swiss network operators, says Comparis expert Christoph Glaus to the Sonntagszeitung. In this way, the providers could generate new sources of revenue and bind customers more closely to themselves.

A big advantage for telecom providers: They can offer low administrative hurdles when opening an account. The customer's identity has already been checked when signing up for a subscription. A bank account can thus be opened without any effort. Nevertheless, apart from Salt, no other mobile communications provider in Switzerland seems to be showing any interest in the banking business. As finance professor Andreas Dietrich explained to the Sonntagszeitung, Swisscom in particular has good reasons for its lack of interest. Many banks have outsourced payment transactions and data management. Services that Swisscom offers and are an important growth area for the Swiss market leader. Customers that, according to Dietrich, one does not want to annoy. (hae/SoZ)

Joint Swiss payment app imminent

Postfinance and SIX plan to launch a joint payment app as a way to compete with Apple. It appears that the two companies have reached an agreement on the key points.

As early as March 2016, it became concrete that the main competitors in mobile payments had decided to take a joint path instead of fighting each other (Werbewoche.ch reported). For good reason: If Apple enters the Swiss market with Apple Pay, the competition will have to be strong in order to survive. This will be difficult with various individual solutions - a uniform Swiss solution is required.

As the Sonntagszeitung writes in its current issue, the negotiations are apparently close to a breakthrough. According to circles familiar with the negotiations, the parties have reached agreement on important points and found technical solutions. Now it is a matter of defining the organizational structure behind the joint app.

Retailers are particularly interested in a joint solution. They are afraid of the effort involved in using different systems. On the other hand, the banks are exerting pressure and want to standardize the system - and be involved in the solution. According to insiders, Postfinance will now have to give in. The company, which recently joined the Swiss Bankers Association, currently has the most advanced proprietary solution with Twint. Twint can already be used to pay at Coop, for example, while the competing product Paymit is only in a trial phase in this respect.

It is possible that Postfinance will be cooperative and give up its lead in favor of a joint solution. According to the Sonntagszeitung, Swiss Post managers are exerting pressure behind the scenes because they want permission to grant loans. This is forbidden for Swiss Post today, but makes life difficult for it in times of negative interest rates. That's why they probably don't want to gamble away any goodwill on the app issue. Rudolf Elmer wins defamation case against Weltwoche

Weltwoche violated the personal rights of whistleblower Rudolf Elmer in two articles in 2011 and 2012. The corresponding judgment of the Zurich District Court must be published in the print edition and on the Weltwoche website.

In the article "A bad whistleblower" from January 26, 2011, Weltwoche wrote that Elmer had harassed former colleagues and superiors for years with anonymous death threats and insults. A year later, the whistleblower was described as a thief and blackmailer in the article "Honorable Traitors". The court deemed both texts to be defamatory. The NZZ reported on the ruling, which was also made available to the sda news agency, in its Friday edition. The ruling stipulates the text and the size of the titles with which the district court's decision must be published in the print edition and on the Weltwoche homepage. The ruling must be published within ten days of it becoming legally binding. Publication on Weltwoche.ch must take place within 30 days. Rudolf Elmer's civil action was directed against the author Alex Baur, the editor-in-chief Roger Köppel and Weltwoche Verlags AG. Because Elmer was only proved right on part of the charges, he must pay three quarters of the court fees of CHF 8,000. He must also pay the Weltwoche lawyer a "reduced party compensation" of CHF 7,500.

Sentenced to a conditional fine in 2015

The former manager of Bank Julius Baer achieved worldwide fame as a whistleblower in January 2011 when he presented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange with two data carriers containing alleged client data of tax evaders in front of cameras at a media conference in London. In January 2015, Elmer was sentenced to a conditional fine by the Zurich District Court for forgery of documents and violation of banking secrecy. He was acquitted on various counts. He wants a full acquittal and took the case to the Zurich High Court. The trial in the second instance is still pending. (SDA)

Westiform mounts the largest illuminated sign in Switzerland

Westiform installed Switzerland's largest illuminated sign for Coop. The sign is 21 meters long.

More than 120'000 motorists pass the building of the new Coop production and logistics site in Pratteln BL on the A2/A3 freeway every day. A huge illuminated sign from Westiform ensures perfect brand visibility at this prominent location, day and night. It is considered the largest illuminated sign in the whole of Switzerland.

The illuminated Coop lettering has gigantic dimensions: the individual letters rise between 5 and 6.4 meters into the air, making them slightly larger than a full-grown giraffe. The entire lettering is over 21 meters long. In the dark, around 2,200 energy-efficient and ideally arranged LEDs ensure homogeneous illumination and brilliant color effects. The WF Libra lighting control system ensures further energy savings: Because only at dusk does the logo shine at full intensity. When it is dark, its luminosity is reduced by means of control and switched off completely during the night's rest.

In around 500 working hours, the illuminated lettering was designed and manufactured with foresight by the Westiform specialists and then expertly assembled. The interior of the individual letters consists of a steel framework, which is wrapped in an extremely durable stretch fabric.

Inter-Punkt: New campaign for Home Expo

The Home Expo in Suhr is the only prefabricated home exhibition in Switzerland. With the goal of increasing awareness, Inter-Punkt was commissioned to provide comprehensive support.

Right next to the Möbel Pfister site, interested builders can view 14 different show homes and be inspired by all kinds of ideas. With the aim of increasing awareness of the Home Expo, Inter-Punkt was commissioned with the overall management.

From the development of the subject to the communication and media mix, all measures were to be worked out. The web and advertising agency Inter-Punkt first created the visual hook for the campaign. With the aim of finding a striking and at the same time thematically appropriate hook for the Home Expo, a recognizable image was developed in close cooperation with the client. With a key board on a red background depicting several house keys, a motif was designed that briefly and succinctly explains what the Home Expo is all about: viewing 14 show homes. The keys symbolize the "free" entrance to the show houses. Depending on the measure and medium, different claims designed by Inter-Punkt were used.

plakat_wand_visual

The Home Expo website was redesigned - the main aim was to make the most important information easily and quickly accessible with a broad-based poster campaign in urban centers in regions with a strong construction industry (including Lucerne, Basel, Bern and Fribourg) and targeted advertisements in regional advertisers in the Aarau region. In addition, a spring event was organized together with various partners, which was advertised via radio spots on Radio Energy in Zurich, Basel and Bern.

Jung von Matt launches the new awareness campaign of Pro Infirmis

Pro Infirmis has made the fact that anxiety is a disability that must be taken seriously the focus of a new awareness campaign created by Jung von Matt/Limmat.

800,000 people in Switzerland suffer from anxiety disorders. Those affected can no longer move freely and avoid public places. The consequences of this are often the loss of a job and a connection to society. The aim of the new campaign is to raise awareness of anxiety disorders and reduce the stigmatization of mental disabilities.

Fachmeldung_960x840_1

At the heart of the campaign designed by Jung von Matt is an emotional film. It impressively demonstrates that an anxiety patient often has to struggle with greater obstacles in their everyday life than someone in a wheelchair. The film was directed by award-winning Danish filmmaker Martin Werner.

The campaign theme will also be staged on Pro Infirmis' social channels with short and teaser versions of the film. At the same time, campaigning, online advertising on social media and news platforms as well as posters, print ads and postcards are used to communicate. With agenda setting and media work, Jung von Matt also makes anxiety disorders a talking point in the media.
