VBZ presents the first Formula E car in Zurich
Next Sunday, Zurich will host Switzerland's first Formula E race. The international racing series featuring electric race cars is the green alternative to the Formula 1 circuit. As a result, there is already a great deal of media attention leading up to the event.

Ruf Lanz uses the topicality for the VBZ to show the first Formula E bolide that ever drove on Zurich's streets: the electric streetcar Zurich of 1894. Fleet 18 HP accelerated the car to a top speed of 15 km/h (in how many seconds is not vouched for).
Today, Zurich's public transport system carries 80 percent of its passengers on environmentally friendly electric power: that's more than 700,000 people a day. So the people of Zurich rely on electric vehicles all year round.
