Laugh together: New app enables video sessions with friends
Watching funny cat videos by yourself isn't any fun? No problem, thought the California-based startup Little Labs, and without further ado, it created a way to teleport your friends onto the living room couch.

iPhone owners only need the app "Let's Watch It!"which serves as an iMessage extension. Since March 1, it has been possible to send videos to friends via the application in order to watch them together. In the latest update, however, a function has been added that is even better at quelling loneliness: the front camera and microphone of your friends are tapped so that you can actually laugh tears together with them.
Reactions also via emoji
At the moment, YouTube, YouTube Live and Twitch videos are part of the app's playable repertoire. However, the developers hope that one day it will also be possible to watch Netflix films together. And if the emotional reactions on friends' faces are too unclear, users can also react to what they are watching with different emojis. The new function is reminiscent of Apple's "FaceTime", in which iPhone owners also communicate with each other via the front camera. However, Kris McDonald from Little Labs emphasized to VentureBeat: "Replacing FaceTime is not as much our plan as improving the experience of watching videos together." (pte)
