This is the result of the annual estimate by Swiss e-commerce consultancy Carpathia, as the Handelszeitung writes in its current issue. According to Carpathia, the German online fashion retailer achieved net sales of CHF 534 million in Switzerland in 2016, an increase of 26% compared to the previous year. Sales in the brick-and-mortar Swiss fashion business fell by around 7 percent in the same period. A total of twelve million Zalando parcels were in circulation in Switzerland in 2016. Carpathia puts the parcel return rate at 60 percent. Zalando itself does not communicate any results at country level. The Berlin-based company has no employees in this country; the entire Swiss business is managed from Berlin. (HZ)
