The NZZ Media Group is strengthening its subscription marketing efforts and organizing them on a group-wide basis. As part of this effort, telemarketing will now be managed centrally.

Revenues from the reader market are becoming increasingly important for the NZZ Media Group. For this reason, the Group is continuing to build a joint marketing organization. Since 2014, the NZZ Media division has gradually introduced new data-driven marketing processes and systems. In the future, the Group will use these for all publishing areas and provide customers with coordinated support across all channels, from initial contact to purchase and beyond.

Telemarketing, which is currently still carried out separately at several locations, is also to be managed centrally. From summer 2017, the agencies that handle NZZ Medien's telemarketing will take over the orders from the regional titles. The contracts of thirteen people currently working part-time or hourly in Lucerne or St. Gallen will be terminated at the end of June. "We are in talks with these employees to mitigate the consequences of this decision," emphasizes Jürg Weber, Head of Regional Media at the NZZ Media Group.

Mirko Marxen will head the new marketing organization as Head of Customer Marketing. Christine Bolt, Deputy Head of St. Gallen Tagblatt, will be the contact person for the regional media for this organization and will also take over product marketing for all regional titles. The previous Reader Market Manager Lucerne, Ueli Kaltenrieder, is taking his normal retirement in the summer. He will be succeeded in Lucerne by Bettina Schibli, currently Head of Strategic Projects. "I would like to sincerely thank Ueli Kaltenrieder for his tireless commitment to Central Switzerland's newspaper titles over thirty years. I wish Bettina Schibli and Christine Bolt every success in their new tasks," says Jürg Weber.
