The first ticket vending machine on the wrist
Fairtiq is the first app in the world to bring the ticket machine to the Apple Watch. With just one tap on your wrist, you can purchase a ticket.

As before in the cell phone app, check-in works with a single click on the Apple Watch. You are then entitled to use public transport in the Frimobil (Fribourg), Passepartout (Lucerne), Libero (Bern-Biel-Solothurn), STI (Thun region) and Engadin Mobil (Upper Engadine) tariff associations. More areas will be added by the end of the year.

With the launch of the ticketing app of the same name at the end of April 2016, Fairtiq, together with its partners Verkehrsbetriebe Freiburg, Verkehrsbetriebe Luzern and Rhätische Bahn, simplified ticket purchasing on public transport.
Until now, passengers had to deal with sometimes complicated fare systems before they could buy a ticket. The new Fairtiq app makes this child's play: Before boarding public transport, passengers log on to the app with a single click, and log off again in the same way at the end of their journey. Thanks to location recognition, the system registers the distance traveled and then automatically calculates the cheapest ticket: if you make several trips a day and a day pass would have been cheaper at the end of the day, Fairtiq only charges for the day pass. And if you accidentally forget to log off again, the app automatically reminds you.
All this is now also possible via the Apple Watch. It couldn't be simpler. This is how the simplest ticket in Switzerland works on the Apple Watch:
