The pool of the P is draining

Radio marketing Everything indicates that PubliGroupe's radio pool will fail.

Radio marketing Everything points to the failure of the PubliGroupe radio pool. It is clear, for example, that Pool 2000 had not yet been terminated by August 16, as Martin Muerner, managing director of Pool 2000, confirmed on request. Although a termination would still be possible until Radioday on August 31, this is hardly to be expected. In the meantime, the resistance against the project is too great. The P's action has caused one thing above all: a split in the radio industry between stations that were invited by PubliGroupe to participate in the pool and those that were not. The discord is so great that "in this scene, no one dares to look the other in the eye anymore," as one insider puts it. As a result, people are only talking to each other on the quiet. And numerous rumors are doing the rounds. For example, it is rumored that P has signed at most two radio contracts. However, because no statements were available from P or from the people who have been accused by the time of going to press, we will refrain from further rumors here for the time being.
The fact is, however, that the publishers' association has now also taken up the dispute. Last week, for example, the Department of Electronic Media and Technology invited members to a meeting at which the dispute was on the agenda. Although the head of the department, Norbert Neininger, did not disclose any internal details, he did let it be known that the association's executive committee would also be happy for a pause for reflection: "From the association's point of view, it would certainly be desirable if the radio stations could present a united front in the upcoming RTVG debate and not be divided by any activities.
