The Zurich Film Festival’s festival center on Zurich’s Sechseläutenplatz is getting a new design for the festival’s 22nd edition. The creative agency Aroma is responsible for this; as a long-standing partner of the Zurich Film Festival, it has been in charge of the square’s design for several years now. This year, the center will open up more to both sides of the square: the Bellevue and Opera House sides will be equally highlighted and incorporated into the design.

A New Experience at Sechseläutenplatz

According to Aroma, the square’s design will be more open, inviting, and accessible from all sides. New design and interactive elements are intended to enhance the experience and invite visitors to immerse themselves in the festival world. Inside the festival center, a new lounge is also being created to encourage visitors to linger longer. The press release states that the overall design will bring the audience even closer to the festival action and right into the heart of the ZFF’s atmosphere.

Pop-up stores and brand activations throughout the city center

According to Aroma, there’s also more to discover around the festival center. Various pop-up stores and brand activations create additional experiences and expand what’s on offer at Sechseläutenplatz. Whether you have a movie ticket or not, the festival center—which is open to the public—remains a gathering place for everyone. Various food trucks and the ZFF Bar offer a diverse selection of dining options. Public talks, ticket sales, merchandise, and a view of the Green Carpet let you experience the festival even away from the theaters.

Scent as a Shaper of Brands and Spaces

According to the company, Aroma brings brands to life—through branding, design, interior architecture, exhibitions, and live communication—in ways that are spatial, interactive, and experience-oriented. Across its three hubs—Aroma Creative, Aroma Architecture, and Aroma Productions—more than 140 specialists create brand interactions at every touchpoint. Lukas Meier founded the company in 1995. Today, the public limited company is owned by the managing partners Eugen Brunner, Alexander Hauri, Lukas Meier, and Roger Stämpfli. Aroma is based at the Nœrd creative business center, where it has its own workshops, warehouse, and vehicle fleet. Additional office locations are in Bern, Lausanne, and Lugano.

With this year's enhancements, the festival center will become an even more integral part of Sechseläutenplatz—as a place for film, socializing, and festival atmosphere right in the heart of Zurich, according to Aroma.
