Ochsner Sport Hidden Signatures: When the jersey reveals its true value only under UV light

Just in time for the Swiss national team’s first game, Ochsner Sport is releasing a limited number of special national team jerseys. For the «Ochsner Sport Hidden Signatures» campaign, the Zurich-based advertising agency thjnk Zürich and the official Swiss national team fan shop have turned a hidden detail of the new jersey into the focal point of a PR campaign: Under UV light, the signatures of the entire Swiss national team become visible on select jerseys.

A UV feature as a creative starting point

The new national team jersey comes with elements that are visible under UV light right out of the factory. Ochsner Sport and thjnk Zürich are using precisely this technical detail as the basis for their idea. Selected jerseys were signed by the entire Swiss national team using a special UV pen—whose ink remains invisible in normal light and only becomes visible under UV light. This is intended to turn the jerseys into hidden collector’s items whose value is only revealed at the right moment.

A total of eleven autographed jerseys will be mixed in with the regular merchandise. You can verify whether a jersey is actually autographed right at the time of purchase: In the store, it is checked in a special box where the signatures become visible under UV light.
