Coop is banking on Gen Z
Coop is expanding its youth initiative, scoop, and integrating the platform into Supercard as a standalone app. The Coop scoop app is aimed at Generation Z and offers exclusive deals, live experiences, and authentic content.

Coop scoop App: Youth Platform Becomes Part of Supercard
On June 3, 2026, Coop officially launched the Coop scoop app—a standalone platform fully integrated into Supercard and designed for young people between the ages of 16 and 25. This new development combines the existing social media offerings with a new digital ecosystem of features, games, and experiences, and is specifically targeted at Generation Z.
From Social Media to the Integrated Coop Scoop App
scoop was launched in May 2022 to appeal to a young audience active on social media. The platform quickly established itself on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and later on Snapchat as well. According to the company, it reached approximately 1.4 million interactions per month in 2025. The press release states that the intensive dialogue with Generation Z has enabled Coop to further develop topics and formats in a targeted manner. Now, the potential of scoop is to be fully realized through a comprehensive digital platform.
The integration with Supercard is intended to create a new community that offers its members exclusive benefits across all formats of the Coop Group—in both the food and non-food sectors. These include attractive loyalty programs, games, contests, free products, coupons, advance concert ticket sales, and other incentives. «Generation Z is searching for its own identity, one based on values related to consumption and pop culture,» explains Thomas Schwetje, Head of the Digital & Customer Division at Coop. Societal trends such as authenticity, value-driven consumption, individuality, and a “digital-first” mindset shape the everyday lives of young people, with community playing an increasingly important role.
Authenticity Over AI: Content Created by the Target Audience for the Target Audience
The platform’s content is developed by Coop’s young multimedia team. «Our ideas are developed entirely from the target audience’s perspective,» explains Seraina Schmid, content producer at scoop. «At a time when a certain degree of AI fatigue is noticeable on social media, we set ourselves apart with authentic content.» In addition to well-known influencers, Coop trainees will increasingly appear on camera in the future. The app also features daily mini-games, while scoop deliberately focuses on short-form entertainment content on social media.
Live experiences and events complement the digital offerings
The report goes on to say that by closely involving the target audience in the project, Coop has gained a better understanding of the needs of Generation Z. The platform works closely with leading event organizers throughout Switzerland to offer young people exclusive deals. Sponsored events such as the music program «riser.», Energy Air, the Hero Fest in Bern, and the Olma Day Dances round out the offerings. In addition, scoop holds monthly giveaways for prizes and experiences—such as a city trip for four people to a European metropolis of their choice.
With the expansion of its youth initiative to cover all of Switzerland, Coop says it is continuing to invest in the consumers of tomorrow.
