Digital Summit Switzerland debates artificial intelligence
National and international executives and thought leaders answered the call of the Digitalswitzerland initiative and gathered at the Dolder Grand in Zurich to explore artificial intelligence from a wide variety of perspectives.

Opinions are being formed on the subject of artificial intelligence. It is impossible to answer conclusively what is an opportunity and what is a risk. This makes it all the more important for leaders from business, politics and research to compare notes on the current status of their deliberations and efforts. digitalswitzerland's one-and-a-half-day Digital Summit Switzerland provided a platform for contributing and taking away impulses in this regard.
Marc Walder, founder of the digitalswitzerland location initiative and CEO of Ringier AG: "Artificial intelligence has long since made its way into our everyday lives, sometimes spectacularly, sometimes unnoticed. Independent and, above all, unagitated information helps us all to arrive at a viable opinion in this fast-moving area. Through its multi-faceted program, the Digital Summit Switzerland provides a valuable overview of the present and future of this key technology."
The event was opened on the first evening by Thomas Schneider, the Ambassador and Vice Director of OFCOM and Chairman of the Council of Europe's Committee on Artificial Intelligence, with his presentation "How to 'regulate' new technologies like AI". Alex Karp, founder and CEO of Palantir, a US technology company specializing in data analytics, answered questions from business, political and scientific leaders.

On the second day, leading national and international specialists highlighted topics such as hyper-innovation, the workforce of the future, the role of Switzerland, geopolitical implications, creating opportunities or preparing for the next era against the backdrop and with the possibilities of artificial intelligence. This full program then reached the high-level audience in the breadth of its interests.
Helmut Ruhl, CEO of AMAG Group AG, once again emphasizes the clear benefits of the event: "AI is already being used extensively in the automotive industry and will only become more important in the future. digitalswitzerland and the Digital Summit Switzerland promote understanding of the state of the art, its future possibilities, but also its limitations. This is an important contribution for companies and society as a whole."
Stefan Rösch-Rütsche, Country Managing Partner of EY Switzerland, also sees the success of the event as confirmation of his commitment: "In many respects, AI represents a paradigm shift and must be reflected accordingly in our work. The overview that the Digital Summit Switzerland offers in this regard is extremely valuable for this reason."
It was the collaboration of EY Switzerland, AMAG Group AG, Ringier AG and digitalswitzerland that made the 5th Digital Summit Switzerland of this size possible.
