More sustainability: USP implements live marketing challenge for Valser

Valser uses PET bottles made from 100 percent recycled material. «Nice to see you again» is the apt message on the label of the new VALSER bottles. As part of the launch, USP Partner designed a sustainable live marketing campaign.

By consistently reducing its CO2 footprint and offsetting the remaining CO2 emissions, Valser has achieved climate neutrality. Valser is also involved in various projects outside Switzerland.

In the next step, Valser will be the first Swiss mineral water to switch to 100% recycled PET for its bottles, thereby closing the bottle cycle completely. By fall 2019, all Valser PET bottles will be made from 100% recycled material.

For the launch campaign of the packaging innovation, USP developed a roadshow in the five largest cities - including the Bundesplatz in Bern and the Barfüsserplatz in Basel. At the heart of the two-stage activation was a four-metre-high original replica of the Valser bottle, which was produced from sustainable or reusable materials.

The entire roadshow was also certified climate-neutral. Mr. and Mrs. Swiss were encouraged by this recycling station to throw their old PET bottles into the oversized replica so that they can then be fully recycled and reappear on the market as new, old rPET bottles for VALSER - true to the motto: "Nice to see you again".

The two-stage live marketing activity was rounded off with a discount campaign in which consumers received a 2-for-1 voucher for their next Valser when they handed in their PET bottle. Around the activation, the USP promoter team also ensured that consumers were able to obtain sufficient information about recycling and rPET.

For VALSER, USP Partner was responsible for the entire concept of the activity, including the planning, creation and realization of the four-meter-high replica of the Valser bottle. The realization was captured in a mood film.
