Hiking Switzerland's bilateral routes
To draw attention to the importance of the bilateral agreements, Swissmem is sending out walking maps this summer to show its members the bilateral route. The Zurich-based agency Evoq designed and created these for the Association of the Swiss Mechanical, Electrical and Metal Industries.

The hiking map contains eight hiking trails with different characteristics in different regions of Switzerland. The trails, which usually cross at least one national border, illustrate Switzerland's proximity to its European neighbors. In attractively designed text boxes, the advantages of the bilateral agreements for the regions and for Switzerland as a whole are explained in addition to a brief description of the hiking region with a picture.
A box containing ten hiking maps was sent to the approximately 1,100 member companies of Swissmem in order to make them available to the employees in the stand provided. The aim of this campaign is that the employees of the member companies understand and remember the connections between the bilateral agreements and the Swiss economy and their advantages. The card therefore contains little-known and surprising facts about the bilateral agreements and Switzerland's trade with Europe.

The individual hikes can be called up on the smartphone at www.swissmem-europe.ch/bilaterale-wege and are prepared in such a way that they can be carried out easily using the maps. A GPS tracker shows the user his current location so that he is sure not to stray from the path. Points of interest mark the most important stations on the hike with reference to the bilateral treaties or Europe.
In order to draw the attention of a wider audience to the campaign and thus to the bilateral treaties, an advertising trailer was created to whet the appetite for hiking and exploring. The trailer is shown on the own website as well as on social media.
