Urs Saxer becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors of Publicom
Urs Saxer is the new chairman of the board of directors of the media research and consulting firm Publicom. He was elected to the position by the general meeting on Wednesday.
Urs Saxer is a partner at Steinbrüchel Hüssy and a specialist in media and communications law. The lawyer is also a titular professor of international law, constitutional law, administrative law and media law at the University of Zurich. He has also lectured at the University of Basel, the ETHZ and the HSG. After studying law and obtaining a doctorate, he was admitted to the bar in 1988.
After working as a legal counsel at Tamedia, Urs Saxer studied at Columbia University Law School and graduated with an LL.M. degree. Saxer began working as an independent attorney in 1995.
"I look forward to providing strategic support to Publicom in the future, in the midst of profound change in the media and communications world," Saxer said of his election as Chairman of the Board. "Together we will develop sustainable answers to this change for our clientele and accompany them in the best possible way on their way to successful media products and effective corporate communications."
René Grossenbacher, the company founder and long-time chairman of the board of directors of Publicom, has handed over his office to Urs Saxer in order to devote himself to mandates in the non-profit sector and to journalistic projects. (Werbewoche.ch reported).
