Tobias Ochsenbein becomes Head of the News Department of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung
Tobias Ochsenbein, who has worked in the NZZ newsroom since 2014, has been appointed head of the newly created news department as of December 1.

Ochsenbein's appointment is accompanied by a realignment of the previous newsroom, which he had headed on an interim basis since 2017: it will be upgraded to an independent department as of December 1, 2018, which will now also include the NZZ social media team under the specialist management of Reto Stauffacher. Tobias Ochsenbein (toc.) joined the editorial team of the New Zurich Newspaper in. He began his journalistic career as a freelance reporter for the Bieler Tagblatt and as a journalist for the Bernese Newspaper. Following his training at the Swiss School of Journalism MAZ in Lucerne and the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg, he completed internships at the Star, on the editorial staff of "10vor10" on Swiss radio and television, at the NZZ and with the NZZ on Sunday. Tobias Ochsenbein studied history and media studies at the University of Basel. He lives in Zurich.
