Tamara Wernli leaves Telebasel after twenty years
After almost twenty years of presenting and editing, Tamara Wernli is leaving Telebasel so that she can devote herself fully to her main business.

The departure of Tamara Wernli is painful, writes Telebasel, but they are looking forward to possible further joint projects with the author and columnist.
"Unfortunately, I had to make a decision, there's just not enough time for everything. In the past few years, the number of mandates and projects in addition to Telebasel has increased. Today, I have reached a point where I can no longer reconcile everything," Tamara Wernli said in a statement.
On April 30, the presenter will anchor Telebasel "News" for the last time. "I am leaving absolutely in peace and there is also nothing going on. I want to focus on my independence and on my own company," Wernli shares about her departure. The station deeply regrets this decision after almost 20 years. Wernli's achievements over the years are praised and appreciated by Telebasel. "Tamara has played a significant role in shaping the history of Telebasel. Of course, we are sad to lose one of our figureheads from the station. However, we understand her desire to develop independently and wish Tamara all the best for this exciting path," says Editor-in-Chief Karin Müller. As a well-booked columnist and author, Tamara Wernli's path continues via various publishing houses in Basel and Germany. She will also be seen time and again as a speaker and commentator on social issues.
However, Telebasel will not have to do without the news presenter altogether. The familiar face from productions such as "Tamara uff Bsuech," "BBQ bei Tamara" and "Kochen im Schloss" will remain loyal to the station in the future. There is talk about a possible engagement at the station. "Tamara Wernli will be back on Telebasel in one form or another. However, this has not yet been finalized at this point in time, we will be all the more pleased," says managing foundation board member Michael Bornhäusser.
