SWA Director Roland Ehrler Becomes New President of the WEMF User Commission

Otto Meier will step down as president of the WEMF User Commission at the end of June 2019. Roland Ehrler, director of the Swiss Association of Advertisers (SWA), will take over.

Otto Meier, Media Marketing, has chaired the User Commission (UC) of WEMF since fall 2011. He will step down as of June 30, 2019. After eight years in this position, it is time for a change. Otto Meier has always greatly appreciated the intensive and constructive dialogues within the User Commission and with the WEMF management, he is quoted as saying in a statement: "I look back on exciting years in which the WEMF User Commission has always succeeded in giving the WEMF management valuable, market-based impulses. I will particularly remember the input on the generation change MACH3 and the current further development of the MACH research system, as well as the wide-ranging discussion on the Total Audience and MA Strategy intermedia studies."

Otto Meier's successor will be Roland Ehrler, the Director of the Swiss Advertisers Association (SWA) and a long-standing active member of the WEMF User Commission. Roland Ehrler is looking forward to his new post: "The WEMF User Commission provides us data users with an important platform to contribute our requirements for market-driven media research and to monitor its implementation. As a representative of advertising clients, I am committed to the transparency of advertising investments and thus to up-to-date performance data. I will also vigorously pursue these concerns as President of the WEMF User Commission."

 

The WEMF User Commission (UC) monitors the development of the media landscape and commercial media research. It advises the WEMF management on the current needs, suitability and application of the available products and tools in practice.

As of July 1, 2019, the User Commission of WEMF will be composed as follows:

  • Roland Ehrler, President, Delegate of the Swiss Association of Advertisers (SWA);
  • Werner Bärtschi, also a deputy of the SWA;
  • Nadine Müller, Delegate of the LSA Leading Swiss Agencies;
  • Peter Döbeli, Delegate of KS Communication Switzerland;
  • Philipp Mankowski, deputy of CS Communication Suisse;
  • Benno Frick, Delegate of the ASW Alliance of Swiss Advertising Agencies;
  • Hansruedi Bichsel, Marianne Läderach,
  • Paolo Placa, all delegates of the Swiss Media Association (VSM);
  • Simone Bianchi, Member of Parliament for Stampa Svizzera;
  • Christine Gabella, Delegate of the Association des médias privés romands;
  • Jean-Marc Velleman, Delegate of the Association of Swiss Free Newspapers (VSGZ);
  • Irène Abt-Durrer, Member of Goldbach Media (Switzerland), and
  • Christian Platz, Delegate of Admeira, and
  • Cesare Patella, member ad personam.
