Steffi Buchli is leaving Swiss Radio and Television at the end of June 2017. The 38-year-old Zurich native has worked in various functions at SRF Sport since 2003. After an internal SRF stage, she was editor of "Sport Aktualität" with specialties in ice hockey, floorball and beach volleyball. Since 2006, she has also worked as a presenter of "sportaktuell" and "sportlive". From 2009 to the end of 2016, she presented the background show "sportlounge". From 2012, Steffi Buchli hosted the "Credit Suisse Sports Awards" sports gala alongside Rainer Maria Salzgeber.

As an anchor, Steffi Buchli has guided the audience through various major events in recent years, most recently the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. At the 2017 World Ski Championships St. Moritz, she welcomed celebrity guests to the late-night talk show "Champiuns". Last year, Steffi Buchli was also voted Sports Journalist of the Year in the poll conducted by industry magazine Schweizer Journalist. Before Steffi Buchli moves to MySports, she will commentate on the Zurich Sechseläuten on Monday, April 24, 2017, on SRF 1. Steffi Buchli is expected to take on new responsibilities as program manager and presenter at the sports channel MySports in the summer.

Steffi Buchli: "After 14 years at SRF, I have decided to leave the company. Exciting new tasks await me at the young sports channel MySports, which I will be able to help shape as a presenter and help shape as a program manager. My time at SRF was great! I will leave with fond memories, especially thanks to many wonderful people I met at work."

MySports aims to become the address for ice hockey lovers and sports enthusiasts from summer 2017. Steffi Buchli is to give the UPC channel a face and, in her new role, drive the further expansion of the editorial teams and the broadcasts. Eric Tveter, CEO UPC: "I am very pleased that Steffi Buchli is enthusiastic about MySports and will strengthen our editorial team with her proven expertise and great passion for Swiss ice hockey."

Together with the editorial team, Buchli wants to make MySports "a unique channel for sports enthusiasts," according to the statement: "The starting position to make MySports the Home of Sports couldn't be better. Together with the MySports team, I want to create a channel that excites sports fans with new, fresh formats."

With Steffi Buchli in charge of programming and Stephan Liniger and Alex Burkhalter already on board as editors-in-chief in French-speaking Switzerland, the MySports editorial team is complete. The new sports channel will go on air exclusively on Swiss cable networks as early as this summer. (pd/hae)
