Wabel has been Managing Director of the industry organization of private Swiss media companies VSM for three years. On January 1, 2025, he will join the management of CH Media and, as COO, will be responsible for the printing plants, press distribution and classifieds portals. He will also be responsible for setting up a company-wide project management office, managing the staff departments and, in particular, Public Affairs. CH Media is also entrusting the new COO with "important representation tasks at regional and national level" as well as driving forward company-wide strategic projects.

In previous positions, the 45-year-old worked for Ringier's Blick Group, among others. Before joining VSM, he was most recently publishing director of the Schaffhausen News and also Deputy Managing Director of the regional media company Meier + Cie Schaffhausen. He completed a degree in communication at the HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich and an Executive MBA HSG at the University of St. Gallen. In addition to many years of knowledge of the Swiss media industry, Wabel also has sound experience in political work and a broad network in politics, administration, business associations and other industry organizations.

Stefan Wabel succeeds Roland Kühne, who is leaving the company at his own request at the end of the year. Kühne has held various management positions at CH Media - formerly AZ Medien - since 2014, in the meantime leading the company as CEO ad interim. He will leave the company at the end of 2024. "After a total of ten years in various challenging positions at AZ Medien and today's CH Media, I would like to continue my education and then tackle something new professionally," says Kühne.
