René Scheu becomes new columnist for the Blick Group

On Monday, 47-year-old philosopher René Scheu will start as a new columnist for the Blick Group. The managing director of the Institute for Swiss Economic Policy at the University of Lucerne (IWP), who previously headed the feature section of the NZZ, will now write regularly for the Blick Group.

Every two weeks, Scheu will take a philosophical look at political, economic and current social issues in his column "Abgeklärt & aufgeklärt. The topics will be progress, perceived truths, political moralism and contemporary enlightenment. He will do this as coolly as passionately, writes the Blick Group in a statement. Once a month, Scheu will also conduct interviews with current affairs personalities for the publications of the Blick Group.

"René Scheu is one of the most intelligent and perceptive writers in Swiss journalism. His in-depth interviews and his very own commentaries are an intellectual delight and a perfect fit for the Blick Group," Christian Dorer, editor-in-chief of the Blick Group, is quoted as saying in the statement.
