Peter Wälty becomes Head of Digital and Deputy Managing Director of the Blick Group
No later than April 1, 2018, Peter Wälty will become Head of Digital and Deputy Managing Director of the Blick Group. In this role, Wälty will continue to drive the digital development of the Blick Group and its products. Wälty has been Head of Digital News and Development at Tamedia since April 2016.

As Head of Digital at Blick Group, Peter Wälty (52) will be the deputy of Alexander Theobald, Managing Director of Blick Group, Ringier announced on Thursday. Alexander Theobald: "I am extremely pleased to bring Peter Wälty, Switzerland's leading expert in the field of digital publishing, on board. The Blick Group has been investing in the digital development of its products for years and is now a pioneer in digital publishing, video reporting, virtual reality, SEO, social media and digital storytelling. We are convinced that Peter Wälty will continue to drive this development and are very much looking forward to working with him."

Peter Wälty looks back on more than 20 years of experience in online journalism. Among other things, he built up the platforms 20minuten.ch and Newsnet/Tages-Anzeiger.ch as Editor-in-Chief and was Head of Digital Development at 20 Minuten. Since April 2016, Wälty has been head of the newly created Digital News and Development department at Tamedia. In these roles, he has helped build NewsExpress, the internal news agency at Tamedia, as well as Tamedia's content marketing and social advertising departments, among others.
Wälty studied General History and English at the University of Zurich and participated in the Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program at Columbia University in New York.
