New managing director for the RSS Media School
RSS Media School and the radio station Toxic.fm have appointed Timo Michels as their new managing director. The 34-year-old is taking over the position from Andreas Batliner effective immediately.

Michels previously worked at Radio Top for several years - including as co-head of entertainment, presenter and producer of various radio programs. In this role, he was responsible for training radio employees. He also has experience in marketing from previous positions.
The previous Managing Director Andreas Batliner is leaving the company to pursue a new professional direction. "We very much regret the departure of Andreas Batliner," says Adrian Schawalder, Chairman of the Board of Directors of RSS. "During his years in office, Andreas Batliner reformatted the station's programming and tripled the number of listeners. He has optimally aligned the media school for the future, so that the company is also in a very stable financial position."
RSS emerged from the Herzschlag Foundation, which was established at the University of St. Gallen in 2001 to set up a student and educational radio station. Today, RSS operates Toxic.fm, the only licensed educational radio station in Switzerland, and offers training courses in radio editing, radio moderation, video and online journalism.
