Markus Gilli leaves Tele Züri - and perhaps remains with the viewers after all
Upon reaching retirement age, Tele-Züri figurehead Markus Gilli will leave the CH Media broadcasting group. His post will be taken over by Pascal Scherrer, according to NZZ am Sonntag.

The 45-year-old Scherrer is head of programming at Radio SRF 3 and is expected to succeed Gilli as head of TV stations by May 2020 at the latest. Last week he announced that he was leaving SRF (Werbewoche.ch reported). As Managing Director of the regional TV stations, he will be responsible for the CH Media station group, to which the stations TVO and Tele 1 are to be added, provided Bakom gives the green light. Oliver Steffen is to be the new editor-in-chief. The 44-year-old is currently a presenter and producer at Tele Züri.
Since the purchase of Tele Züri by AZ Medien/CH Media, former Journalist of the Year Gilli has also been Editor-in-Chief of Tele M1 and Tele Bärn and a member of the management of CH Media's TV division.
Whether the prominent "Talk Täglich" and "Sonntalk" presenter will remain on screen for viewers beyond his retirement age and also guide viewers through the talk shows in a non-managerial position is currently the subject of discussions, according to NZZ am Sonntag. Since Gilli is one of the best talk show hosts in Switzerland, they would like to continue working together beyond his retirement, says Axel Wüstmann, CEO of CH Media, and Roger Elsener, Managing Director of Radio and TV CH Media, when asked by the newspaper.
