Ladina Heimgartner becomes head of the Blick Group
A change is in the works at the top management level of the Ringier media group: Ladina Heimgartner will become head of the Blick Group and assume responsibility for the global media brands.

In addition to her mandate as Blick Group CEO, 40-year-old Ladina Heimgartner will take over the position as Head Global Media of Ringier AG on the Executive Board of the media group as of October 1, 2020. This was announced by the media group on Friday. Heimgartner will thus assume responsibility for around 120 media brands in 12 countries.
Heimgartner has only been with Ringier for seven months. She heads the Corporate Center with the Communications Department, Legal Department, Human Resources Department and Data Protection. Previously, she held a senior position at Swiss Television, most recently as Deputy Director General SRG/SSR.
The media manager will take over the new functions from Thomas Spiegel, who decided to leave the company due to differing views on the strategic direction, according to a statement. He will continue to work for Ringier until the beginning of 2021 to ensure the handover and bring important projects to a conclusion.
Building international media unit
"With Ladina Heimgartner, a manager is taking over the so important journalistic division of the Ringier Group who has proven in recent years that she has an excellent understanding of the transformation of the media industry," Ringier CEO Marc Walder is quoted as saying in the statement.
It will set up an international media unit at Group level, which will "drive and coordinate" the further development of Ringier's media brands in Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
Following Spiegel's departure from the Executive Board of Ringier AG, it will in future be composed of: Marc Walder (CEO), Annabella Bassler (CFO), Ladina Heimgartner (Head Global Media, CEO Blick Group), Robin Lingg (Head Global Marketplaces) and Alexander Theobald (COO Switzerland and CEO RASCH).
