Günter Heuberger hands over top media to Philippe Pfiffner
After a transition period lasting about a year and a half, Günter Heuberger is now stepping down from the management team at Radio Top and Tele Top. Philippe Pfiffner will take over for him.

Heuberger gained his first media experience as a consultant at Farner in Zurich, where he worked on mandates for Swissair, Zurich Airport and Radio Z. Following a request from the three initiators of Radio Eulach, Hans-Jacob Heitz, Hansjörg Hüppi and Peter Spälti, he became involved in setting up the first private radio station in Winterthur.
Günter Heuberger was also involved in the founding of the television station Winti TV in 1986, together with Jakob Maurer from Stadtantenne Winterthur and Werner Wäckerli, Head of Information for the city of Winterthur. After the 1998 merger of Radio Eulach, Radio Thurgau and Radio Wil to form Radio Top, Winti TV was expanded to Tele Top in 1999. While Radio Top broadcast from the Erlenhof in Winterthur, Tele Top soon moved to the new television studio in Frauenfeld. In 2012, Radio Top also moved into premises in the same building - since then, the two sister companies have been based together on Bürglistrasse in Winterthur.
In spring 2019, Günter Heuberger decided to place the management of Radio Top and Tele Top in younger hands. The now 67-year-old will be succeeded by 40-year-old Philippe Pfiffner. Apart from a brief interruption, he has been working for Top Media since 2005 and will take over responsibility as Managing Director on March 1, 2021, after being appointed Deputy Managing Director by the Board of Directors on September 1, 2019 (Werbewoche.ch reported).
"It was important to me to fulfill an exciting performance mandate with great people and to show that smaller companies also have a chance to develop in the digital world. The more than 1,000 employees that I was able to accompany and whose development I was committed to were the best motivation to gladly bear this great responsibility over all these years," Günter Heuberger is quoted as saying in a press release.
