Grip: Catherine Purgly becomes Co-Managing Director

Catherine Purgly headed the Leading Swiss Agencies (LSA) office for eight years. As of January 1, 2024, she will take over the co-management of the Grip agency as Managing Partner, as well as responsibility for the Branding & MarCom division.

At the end of November, Catherine Purgly will leave LSA to join Grip as Managing Partner.

She enters her new role with extensive experience and industry knowledge in brand and marketing communications consulting on the agency side. Her career has taken her through well-known companies such as Publicis, Advico Young & Rubicam, Wunderman and the Draftfcb/Lowe Group. There, she was a member of the executive team and responsible for strategic planning. Before becoming LSA Managing Director in 2015, she worked as an independent consultant for brand strategy and conception.

"I am very excited to join a renowned Zurich-based communications agency like Grip as a partner and to help them diversify the service portfolio in a way that is critical to our clients' digital transformation," says Catherine Purgly.

Thomas Biedermann, founder and co-owner of the agency, will oversee the handover of operational management of the Branding & MarCom division to Catherine Purgly, while newly acting as Head of Strategy as well as further expanding Grip's leading real estate marketing expertise.

"With Catherine Purgly, we have come full circle, because my business partners and I have known and appreciated her for many years. From the very beginning, she was our preferred candidate for the expansion of our agency management. So we are already looking forward to going the further way of Grip together with her and to align the agency for the future", Thomas Biedermann emphasizes.
