Management change: Christian Frey becomes COO at Valencia

Christian Frey, currently CEO of Valencia’s subsidiary Cab Services, will also take over Frédérique Mathys’s position as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Basel-based agency Valencia Kommunikation. Mathys is leaving the company after 20 years—six of them as COO—and will pursue new opportunities.

As the agency writes in a statement, the ongoing transformation of Valencia Kommunikation is already well advanced, in particular through the commitment of Frédérique Mathys, and is now receiving the finishing touches with the change of leadership. The more than 65 employees are increasingly working in agile teams on new ways to constantly develop themselves and the company.

As CEO of the digital agency and wholly owned Valencia subsidiary Cab Services, Christian Frey has successfully restructured and realigned the company, the statement continues. This has already led to a positive development in new customer business. Frey has already worked at various agencies and was a partner and co-CEO at the Zurich agency Noise for twelve years. After a stint at TBWA, he joined the Valencia Group in January 2019. As COO at Valencia, Christian Frey will primarily continue and implement the transformation launched by Frédérique Mathys and Michael Gerber.
