François Besençon new Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAWI
Since 2009, media and communications expert François Besençon has served as vice president of the SAWI Board of Directors. At this year's annual general meeting on May 8, he was elected president.
In a press release, the SAWI Academy for Marketing and Communication welcomes the appointment of François Besençon as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Thanks to his many years of experience in the media and communications sector and his extensive network, he brings a dynamism that will enable SAWI to consolidate its position in French-speaking Switzerland and at the same time further develop its offering in German-speaking Switzerland, the statement continues.
Besençon succeeds Otto Meier, who has chaired the Board of Directors since 2009.
After studying law in Geneva, François Besençon worked in the media sector for more than 30 years. He has held various mandates in well-known companies, worked on the Federal Media Commission, in strategic consulting and public affairs for Admeira in Berne, as President of the Maison de la Communication in Lausanne, as Vice President of KS/CS Kommunikation Schweiz in Zurich, as Vice President of Mediapulse in Berne and also as a member of the Board of Directors of L'Agefi.
Under the chairmanship of François Besençon, the Board of Directors of SAWI now consists of the following members: Christian Merk, Vice Chairman, Peter Leutenegger, Otto Meier and Michael Kamm.
