Diana Bevilacqua will complement the existing TbB employees Béatrice Kirn (management, 100 percent) and Daniel Bader (fundraising and communications, 80 percent) with communications tasks on a 50 percent basis. Diana Bevilacqua's main focus will be on fundraising and marketing communications.

Diana Bevilacqua will continue to work as Deputy Head of Communications at Rehab Basel until the end of April. She will continue to work as a presenter of the health program "Diagnose" on Telebasel.

Diana Bevilacqua has been an ambassador for the TbB since 2013 and as such has a high degree of identification with the commitment to the animals. She has already been active for the TbB in the past with various voluntary assignments at events. The program "Plätzli gsuecht", which is still running successfully on Telebasel and was recorded at the TbB animal shelter, was conceived by Diana Bevilacqua.

Bevilacqua's start of work comes at an interesting time for the TbB, which represents the dawn of a new era: Until the end of May, the TbB's animal shelter will be housed at the temporary location on the Walzwerk site in Münchenstein. After that, the new "Tierheim an der Birs" will be located at Birsfelderstrasse in Basel.

From the beginning of June, the TbB will appear with a new logo and under the name "Foundation TBB Switzerland". The purpose of the foundation is to ensure the operation and existence of the animal shelter in the region of northwestern Switzerland. The transfer of the animal shelter into a foundation serves to create sustainable professional structures under official control (foundation supervision). Furthermore, in view of numerous earmarked donations, the outsourcing of the new animal shelter seems appropriate in order to express the will of the donors in a sustainable way.
