Editor-in-chief of Watson Romandie leaves

The editor-in-chief of the French-language version of Watson, Sandra Jean, is leaving the online portal. Fred Valet, deputy editor-in-chief, is taking over as editor-in-chief on an interim basis.

The management and Jean had decided to end their cooperation by mutual agreement, Watson announced on Wednesday. The reason for the departure was differences of opinion about the future development of the news portal and the management of the project.

"I would like to thank Sandra Jean for everything she has done over the last 18 months. She has recruited a great team and perfectly accompanied the launch of Watson in Western Switzerland. I am very grateful to her," Watson CEO Michael Wanner is quoted as saying in the communiqué.

Watson Romandie was launched at the beginning of March (Werbewoche.ch reported). Around 20 journalists work on the editorial staff in Lausanne. Jean had previously published the French-speaking Swiss newspapers Le Matin and Le Nouvelliste managed (Werbewoche.ch reported). (SDA)
