Chanchal Biswas becomes new head of economics at NZZ am Sonntag

The NZZ am Sonntag is undergoing a change in leadership of its business section. Chanchal Biswas will take over the position effective early September. He succeeds Daniel Hug, who is moving to the Swatch Group.

Chanchal Biswas returns to the editorial team of the Worldwebforum after a one-year stint at the NZZ on SundayHe was a member of the economics department from 2002 to 2007, before briefly turning his back on journalism and working for an IT service provider. In 2010, he became the editor and deputy editor-in-chief of the NZZ on Sunday. In September 2016, he also took on the role of Head of Digital. Chanchal Biswas studied economics and business administration at the University of St. Gallen and gained his first journalistic experience as a trainee in the economics department of the NZZ. "I am delighted that we can once again count on Chanchal Biswas' excellent journalistic skills and leadership competence," says Luzi Bernet, Editor-in-Chief of the NZZ on Sunday.
 
Chanchal Biswas is taking over the management of the Economy division from Daniel Hug, who is leaving the NZZ on Sunday after 16 intensive and successful years to take up a strategic position at Longines within the Swatch Group. Daniel Hug joined the economic department of the NZZ on Sunday which he became head of in 2008.
