Bernhard Wegmüller will become the new director of the umbrella organization Swiss Transfusion SRC in fall 2018. He replaces Rudolf Schwabe, who is retiring after 20 years at the helm of Swiss Transfusion SRC.

Bernhard Wegmüller has been head of the H+ hospital association since 2004, according to an announcement by Swiss Transfusion SRC on Friday. Previously, he worked for the company Berna Biotech, first in clinical research, later in international marketing and strategic product development.

The 51-year-old will take up his position on July 1, 2018, and the handover will take place in the course of September, writes Blutspende SRK. Wegmüller is married, father of three children and lives in Emmental, the statement continues. (SDA)
