Andreas Schürer becomes new Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Head of Newsroom at NZZ
Andreas Schürer, who has been with the NZZ since 2011 and most recently served as Online/Print Editor-in-Charge, has been appointed the new deputy editor-in-chief of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and head of the newsroom, effective immediately.

In his new role, Andreas Schürer will head up the digital newsroom and have operational responsibility for daily online reporting. "We are delighted that we have been able to fill the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Head of the Newsroom internally," says Eric Gujer, Editor-in-Chief of the New Zurich Newspaper. "Andreas Schürer's experience and in-depth expertise make him the ideal candidate for this position. I wish him a good start and every success in his new role."
Andreas Schürer (asü.) joined the editorial team of the New Zurich Newspaper where he initially worked for the Zurich section for six years, becoming deputy head of the section in 2014. In the fall of 2017, he became Daily Manager Online/Print. His journalistic career began in 2001 at the Zurichsee-Zeitung in Stäfa, where he worked as a regional editor, reporter and most recently as deputy editor-in-chief. In 2004, Andreas Schürer won the Zurich Journalism Prize for a report on a family returning to Kosovo. Andreas Schürer graduated from the School of Applied Linguistics in Zurich with a degree in journalism and a teaching diploma in German and French. He is married and the father of two daughters and a son.
