In his role as Tages-Anzeiger correspondent, Cassidy will simultaneously report on politics, business and society in the US for Süddeutsche Zeitung. Since the beginning of 2017, Tages-Anzeiger, together with Süddeutsche Zeitung, has operated one of the largest correspondent networks in the German-speaking world with over 20 correspondents.

Alan Cassidy has been working for the Tages-Anzeiger in the domestic department since October 2015. The 33-year-old, whose second mother tongue is English, previously worked in various departments for Schweiz am Sonntag for three and a half years and already reported for the latter from the 2012 elections in the USA. From 2008 to 2012, he worked at the Basler Zeitung. Cassidy studied political science, economic and social history and journalism at the University of Zurich. In 2015, Cassidy's first book "Der Fall FDP - Eine Partei verliert ihr Land" (The FDP Case - A Party Loses Its Country) was published, which he co-authored with his Tages-Anzeiger colleague Philipp Loser.
