Zermatt, the village at the foot of the world-famous Matterhorn, will become the center of Swiss tourism for four days. From September 21 to 25, the destination will host the Switzerland Travel Mart (STM), the most important sales platform for the Swiss tourism industry.

Around 350 suppliers from all over the country meet around 400 international buyers here. Participants have the opportunity to get to know Swiss offers and conclude sales contracts. For the destination Zermatt - Matterhorn, the STM is an excellent opportunity to present itself as a top destination.

"The STM is only possible thanks to strong commitment and good cooperation. With genuine hospitality and warm charm, we show what makes our village so special - for guests and locals alike. Tourism is a people business - trust and long-term partnerships are more important than ever," says Melanie Arnold, STM project manager at Zermatt Tourismus.

The STM is organized in close cooperation with Switzerland Tourism and many service partners in the destination. Around 20 providers from Zermatt take the opportunity to present their products and services to an international audience. In addition to the workshops in the heart of Zermatt, events such as the Opening, the Destination Evening, the Destination Day and the Closing offer numerous networking opportunities.

Martin Nydegger, Director of Switzerland Tourism, emphasizes: "The STM offers us another excellent platform as part of our Travel Better philosophy. Together with the Swiss tourism industry and host Zermatt, we show the right travel times and the right destinations for exactly the right guests. Swiss tourism once again proves how guest flows are managed and how tourism works in harmony with the local population."

Zermatt, which already hosted the STM in 2015, presents itself as a destination of superlatives: with the car-free village center, 38 four-thousand-meter peaks, the Gornergratbahn, the Glacier Paradise on the Klein Matterhorn and the highest concentration of gourmet restaurants in the Alps, the town offers a unique combination of nature experience and luxury.
