XAVER 2025: Bronze for FHGR students' Eurovision event
A team of multimedia production students from the University of Applied Sciences of Graubünden received the Bronze Award at the 2025 XAVER Awards for the conception and production of the Eurovision Song Contest City Handover & Semi-Final Draw in Basel. The award recognizes the professional execution of the international event.

Success for the next generation of live communication: 14 students from the Multimedia Production course at the UAS Graubünden and their lecturers were awarded bronze in the Best Supplier Services category at the XAVER Awards ceremony in Bern.
They received the award for the conception and realization of the international event City Handover & Semi-Final Draw of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, which was carried out on behalf of SRG SSR. From the development of the direction concept to the moderation scripts and video inserts to the graphics that were broadcast internationally - all facets were designed independently by the students. The production attracted worldwide media attention.
"This award shows that our students already meet international standards during their studies and can deliver top creative performances even under high pressure," says Prof. Roland Köppel, lecturer for Live Communication in the Multimedia Production bachelor's degree program. "I am proud of the team's performance and am convinced that this experience is a springboard for the careers of the students involved."
The XAVER Award is presented annually by the Swiss LiveCom Association and is considered the most important award in the live communication industry in Switzerland. For the 2025 edition, 45 projects were submitted in various categories.
"For us, this award is the icing on the cake of an intensive and challenging time," says Simone Reinhard, the multimedia production student from Alpnach Dorf in the canton of Obwalden who was in charge of the project. "In addition to exams and our Bachelor's thesis, we invested countless hours in this project. The fact that our work has now been awarded bronze makes us incredibly proud and shows that every effort was worthwhile."
