Bam.Live 2025: Over 17,000 visitors discover the world of work in Bern
The Bam.Live Career and Education Fair attracted over 17,000 visitors from August 21–24, 2025. Around 100 exhibitors showcased 300 careers and training opportunities at the Bernexpo grounds. With hands-on insights and interactive activities, the fair underscored its importance as the region’s leading platform for career guidance in the Bern area.
From August 21 to 24, 2025, Bam.Live offered young people in the career choice phase a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in various professional fields. Around 100 exhibitors presented over 300 professions and training opportunities in the exhibition halls. The diverse stand activities were particularly popular: At the health professions stand, visitors were able to feel the baby's position and listen to heart sounds under the guidance of a midwife. At the stand of the master carpenters' association, key rings were made, while at the automation technicians' stand, visitors could only play pinball after correctly plugging in the cables.
The Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture, where visitors could recharge a battery using muscle power on a bicycle - if the power was sufficient, a machine dispensed a syrup. "It was great that we could try out so many things ourselves. We were able to mix a mocktail at the Berufe Hotel Gastro stand. That was fun," says an 8th grader from Burgdorf.
The budding bakers, pastry chefs and confectioners presented their creative masterpieces. Under the motto "Fire", third-year apprentices presented their elaborately designed competition pieces, which were awarded prizes on Sunday, August 24.
During the fair, the Bam Campus offered valuable presentations on the career choice process. Teachers received input on the importance of the vocational baccalaureate, while parents were given tips on how to support their children. For students, the focus was on practical topics - such as professional preparation for job interviews, presented by the BIZ career guidance and information centers in Bern.
The exhibitors draw a positive balance. Adrian Brönnimann, Head of Education at the Insel Gruppe, emphasizes: "The shortage of skilled workers is a reality for us - so it is all the more important to get young people interested in the healthcare professions. The BAM offers us the ideal platform to get to know potential apprentices personally."
"Even the best website or AI cannot replace personal interaction. Young people don't just want to read or stream - they want to experience," adds Diana Walker, board member of the Pharmacists' Association of the Canton of Bern. The next Bam.Live will take place from September 3 to 7, 2026.
