Winter Wrup-Cycling - New cover materials from valuable resources
Winter Wrup-Cycling is an upcycling process that supports the circular economy and gives recycled materials a new lease on life. Thanks to this innovation, Winter & Company now offers a range of unique, sustainable cover materials for packaging, books, stationery, and visual merchandising.

What began in 1892 with the founding of a joint company by two brothers, today represents a globally active company in the fourth generation that takes responsibility. Back in the 1990s, Winter & Company introduced Wintan, a material made from recycled leather fibers, for the first time. This so-called leather fiber material looks confusingly similar to real leather and is made from
tannery waste. Today, the material is still used to cover exclusive books or luxury packages.
The recycled product was the symbolic starting signal for Winter Wrup-Cycling. Winter & Company uses the term to describe the systematic upcycling of its portfolio. This means the use of new
resources reduced and the circular economy actively promoted. Winter Wrup-Cycling creates high-quality cover materials from selected, sustainable raw materials and, above all, recycled raw materials from Post-Industrial-Waste (PIW) and Post-Consumer-Waste (PCW).

Whether natural paper, coated paper, flocked paper, classic book cover fabric and textile imitation leather: the number of Wrup-Cycling products is continuously increasing. The waste used for this comes from tanneries, paper cup production and the cotton industry. Also from waste paper, from PET waste and even from recycled ocean plastic, noble materials with a unique feel and look are created. These new generation products feature excellent material qualities and promise highest quality in application.
