The youth pool of the Zurich-based marketing company Mediabox is growing with two more trendy titles, this time from the music sector. The new addition for the German-speaking Swiss market is called Word. In addition to the musical focus - hip hop and black music - the monthly magazine also integrates related topics such as urban lifestyle, street sports and fashion. The 50,000 (free) copies per issue are distributed via the same channels as the other Jugendpool titles: city disc stores, skateboard and snowboard stores, boutiques, bars and trendy meeting places as well as events. One exception is
Vibrations, which has strengthened the youth pool in French-speaking Switzerland. Unlike all the other magazines in Mediabox's portfolio, this is a paid-for title. Around half of its 15,000-copy circulation is distributed to readers by subscription or via newsstand sales. Together with the two newcomers, the youth pool launched in January 2002 has now grown to eight members: the three basic titles Kult, Forecast and Seventh Sky, which must be subscribed to in order to benefit from the 10 percent pool discount. Plus the modules Vibrations/Word (music), Re.Set (Ticino), 20 Minuten Week (commuter/weekend) and Pong (gaming culture).
