Zurich Regional Newspapers: Managing Director Erland Herkenrath retires
Erland Herkenrath, Managing Director of the Zurich regional newspapers, is retiring at the end of September 2011.
64-year-old Erland Herkenrath took up his post as publishing director of the Zürcher Unterländer in 1992. In 1998, he also took over as publishing director of the Zürichsee-Zeitung. Following the takeover of the two newspapers by Tamedia in April 2010, Herkenrath ensured continuity as Managing Director and represented the newspapers in various project teams, Tamedia wrote in a press release on Wednesday. He successfully oversaw the founding and development of Zürcher Regionalzeitungen, which today comprises the publishing houses of Zürcher Unterländer and Zürichsee-Zeitung as well as the joint sales organization of Der Landbote, the regional editions of Tages-Anzeiger, Winterthurer Stadtanzeiger, Zürcher Oberländer, Zürcher Unterländer and Zürichsee-Zeitung.
