Wemakeit: Over 100,000 francs already collected
In early February 2012, Wemakeit.ch, Switzerland's first crowdfunding platform for cultural projects, went live. Since then, nearly 700 supporters have contributed 104,902 francs to more than 30 projects.
Nine out of twelve completed projects in the fields of music, design, art, theater and film have already been successfully funded, according to a press release issued on Wednesday. The French and English versions of the platform, which was founded by artist and designer Jürg Lehni, cultural entrepreneur Rea Eggli and artist Johannes Gees and is supported by the Ernst Göhner Foundation, Migros Culture Percentage and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, will be launched in April.
