Change at the top of the Jungfrau Zeitung

The Jungfrau Zeitung is set to improve even further thanks to a new editorial structure. In addition, Gossweiler Media will relocate its local and multimedia news platform from Brienz to Interlaken.

The company has shelved its expansion plans in Zurich and will now focus all its energy on the Jungfrau microcosm. Cornelia Nussbaum is the new woman at Jungfrau Zeitung. From April 1, 2012, she will be Editor-in-Chief and also a member of the Executive Board at Gossweiler Media. The publishing house is convinced that Cornelia Nussbaum is the right leader to further improve the local and multimedia news platform, according to a statement from Jungfrau Zeitung.

Born in Olten, she most recently worked as an editor at the ONZ Obwalden and Nidwalden Zeitung and was responsible for the management of the paper as a prospective co-editor-in-chief. The ONZ, which has since been discontinued for economic reasons, was based on the same technology and published according to the same concept as the Jungfrau Zeitung. Before her time at ONZ, Cornelia Nussbaum headed the city departments at the Wilerzeitung in the canton of St. Gallen and the Oltner Tagblatt. She also gained editorial experience at the Aargauer Zeitung and Blick.

With the election of Cornelia Nussbaum as editor-in-chief, the newspaper is saying goodbye to the previous co-editor-in-chief model and is undergoing a restructuring. A fixed, two-person editorial team will be introduced at the newsdesk. This will allow editors to work more as reporters and invest more time in researching their own stories, according to the press release.

The two previous editors-in-chief Samuel Günter and Beat Kohler are leaving the Jungfrau Zeitung. Both have driven the concept of the multimedia news platform forward in recent years, particularly in the online area.
