Watson launches column series with well-known voices from French-speaking Switzerland
With its new «Franc-Parler» section, Watson is expanding its journalistic offerings in French-speaking Switzerland. In the future, articles by prominent figures from the worlds of politics, business, and society will help strengthen the culture of debate—even across language barriers.

At Watson.ch/fr, "Franc-Parler" is a new opinion format that focuses on pointed contributions from well-known voices from French-speaking Switzerland. The columns are published every Sunday and are intended to address current social, economic, political and cultural topics.
The editorial team was able to recruit Roger Nordmann, former SP National Councillor and parliamentary group president, Céline Weber Koppenburg (GLP), Samuel Bendahan (SP), Damien Cottier (FDP), the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Groupe Mutuel Karin Perraudin and public prosecutor and author Nicolas Feuz as columnists, among others. Other contributors include the team from the community platform QoQa.
With the new format Watson.ch will consolidate its role as a debating medium in French-speaking Switzerland and push ahead with the targeted expansion of its journalistic activities. Maurice Thiriet, journalistic director of the reach portals at CH Media, explains: "After three years of explosive growth in reach, we have achieved the necessary water displacement as a mass medium in French-speaking Switzerland to increasingly intervene in the objectively relevant debates with the opinion leaders."
The editorial team is also planning to translate selected articles and publish them on the German-language platform. "In this way, we can help to bridge the gap between the two countries and strengthen cohesion in Switzerland as a nation of will," says Thiriet.
