Vaudois billionaire Frederik Paulsen sues Tamedia
Another lawsuit against Tamedia from French-speaking Switzerland: Frederik Paulsen, an entrepreneur from Vaud, is taking legal action against the media company for an alleged violation of his personal rights.
The advisors of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ferring Group in St. Prex VD announced that a request for arbitration had been submitted to the competent Peace Court in Zurich.
Paulsen had been the victim of a media campaign by Tamedia in the series of more than 30 articles published between June 2018 and February 2019. "The various articles constitute an unlawful attack on his personality," the communiqué said.
Vaudois politicians from various camps, such as FDP State Councillor Pascal Broulis or SP State Councillor Géraldine Savary, had traveled to Russia several times at the invitation of the billionaire and Russian honorary consul, as the Tages-Anzeiger uncovered. After that, allegations of corruption kept Vaudois politics on tenterhooks for months.
Paulsen is not the first to take legal action against Tamedia. Vaudois State Councillor Pascal Broulis filed a civil suit for defamation against a journalist of the Tages-Anzeiger one. This had written in several reports about tax situation of the FDP politician.
Geneva State Councilor Pierre Maudet also crosses blades with Tamedia (Werbewoche.ch reported). It requires from the Tages-Anzeiger the right of reply to an article published last November. A hearing before a Geneva civil court took place on Tuesday. (SDA)
