Publishers Association: Andrea Masüger replaces Pietro Supino as President
Andrea Masüger is the new President of the Swiss Media Publishers Association, or VSM for short. After six years, Pietro Supino was bid farewell with great thanks for his services and appointed Honorary President. Ursula Nötzli and Ladina Heimgartner were also newly elected to the presidency.

At the General Meeting on September 13, 2022, the members of the VSM elected Andrea Masüger as the new Publisher President. He succeeds Dr. Pietro Supino, who is stepping down after six years and will in future concentrate on his duties as publisher and President of the TX Group. By appointing him Honorary President, the General Meeting expresses its gratitude and appreciation for Pietro Supino's great commitment to the Publishers Association and the Swiss media industry as a whole. He had been a member of the Presidium since 2008, serving as Vice President since 2010 and President of the Publishers Association since 2016.
The new Publisher President Andrea Masüger has been the Delegate of the Board of Directors of Somedia Press AG since 2018 and works as a journalist. Previously, he was CEO of the Bündner Medienhaus for eight years and Editor-in-Chief of Bündner Zeitung/Südostschweiz for a total of 17 years. Andrea Masüger has been a member of the presidium of the Publishers Association since 2016, and is also vice president of the Swiss School of Journalism MAZ., President of the Zurich Journalism Prize ZJP and was a long-standing member of the Federal Media Commission EMEK until August last year.
In his inaugural speech, Andrea Masüger emphasized the importance of private media for our direct democracy. He wants to continue the important work of the VSM: "As the new President of the VSM, I will do everything in my power to support private media companies and the supply of journalistic information in our country. To this end, I intend to hold our industry together and also to further strengthen the exchange with politics. After all, we need to convince people inside and outside our industry of what we do. And of how important this service is for a functioning democracy."
The VSM Presidium is now complemented by Dr. Ursula Nötzli, Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer and member of the Group Management of TX Group, and Ladina Heimgartner, Head Global Media of Ringier AG and CEO of the Blick Group. The two representatives were elected by the General Meeting as members of the Presidium.
