Urs F. Meyer leaves Swiss Media Association
The Managing Director of the Swiss Media Association, Urs F. Meyer, has informed the Executive Committee that he is stepping down as Managing Director and will leave the association at the end of April 2014. He took over as Managing Director in October 2009.
During his term of office, he drafted the new Articles of Association and the amended contribution regulations, negotiated to prevent SRG's online advertising and opposed the price increase for the daily delivery of print products by Swiss Post. Urs F. Meyer also represented the interests of publishers in Bern with regard to the revision of the Value Added Tax Act and the preservation of indirect press subsidies in the Postal Services Act. Urs F. Meyer represented the Swiss Publishers Association in the ENPA (European Publishers Association) and the WAN (World Association of Publishers). The Board of Directors would like to thank Urs F. Meyer for his commitment and work on behalf of the private Swiss media, according to a statement issued by the association on Wednesday.
