Urs Ellenberger will take up his post as the new head of news and pagemaker at Sonntagsblick on February 1, 2009. The 39-year-old has also worked as a pagemaker at 20 Minuten. After Claudia Schlup, another member of the editorial staff of 20 Minuten is thus moving to Ringier within a very short time. At Sonntagsblick, Ellenberger replaces Hannes Britschgi, who has been editor-in-chief since September 1 and thus performs a dual function until Ellenberger takes over.
Ellenberger already worked for Sonntagsblick from 1988 to 1990, for which he spent a year in Paris. He also worked as a reporter for Cash, Channel Thirteen/WNet in New York, Sonntagszeitung and Tages-Anzeiger, and then as head of the online portal Tagesanzeiger.ch and producer at Weltwoche.
